Three Institutions that will be Involved in the Halal Certification Process in Indonesia

Jakarta, InfoPublik - The enactment of Law Number 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Guarantee (JPH Law), now there are three institutions that will be involved in the halal certification process in Indonesia, namely the Indonesian Ulama Council, the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH), and Halal Inspection Agency (LPH).

For LPH, currently existing in Indonesia is the Institute for the Assessment of Food, Drugs and Cosmetics, the Indonesian Ulema Council, PT Sucofindo, and the last accreditation that was just PASUND, PT Surveyor Indonesia. The last completed LPH has received a Decree from the Head of the Guarantee Administration. Halal Products (BPJPH) Ministry of Religion concerning Issuance of LPH Accreditation Certificate to PT Surveyor Indonesia, some time ago. In carrying out this LPH Accreditation, BPJPH collaborates with MUI. Description of PT Surveyor Indonesia's LPH Accreditation was given after going through various stages as well as document examinations and levers of the BPJPH and MUI Teams since last October 2020. Several LPH candidates have also submitted applications to BPJPH. The presence of three LPHs is a support for the implementation and procurement of halal products in Indonesia. UI is also involved especially in the process of leveraging the field to then provide recommendations that the applicant meets the requirements as an LPH.
