The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta through the Education Office (Disdik) continues to enforce learning from home for all schools in DKI Jakarta Province in the even semester of the 2020/2021 Academic Year (TA).
Head of DKI Jakarta Disdik, Nahdiana said, the health and safety of students, educators and education personnel are the top priorities in this pandemic.
“The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is very careful in making policies related to the implementation of face-to-face learning in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. The main priority is the health and safety of students, educators and education personnel. Face-to-face learning cannot be implemented so that all schools in DKI Jakarta continue to learn from home (BDR), ”he said as quoted from the Jakarta PPID Press Release, Saturday (2/1).
However, DKI Jakarta Disdik continues to make preparations for face-to-face learning and collaborates with various related parties in preparing these lesson plans. Several recommendations have also been accepted to ensure the health and safety of students in the face-to-face learning policies that have been taken.
Nahdiana also said that her party had prepared a Ready to Learn page. This page is used to assess schools in DKI Jakarta.
The Ready to Study page aims to measure the readiness of educational units in carrying out learning activities in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. Each assessment item on the Ready to Study page has criteria that are adjusted to the policy standards of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud), Decree of the Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office Number 1130 of 2020, as well as guidelines issued by UNESCO and the OECD.
"We have been doing this process for a long time. We also always coordinate with many parties, from the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI), the DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office, the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), education experts, educational platforms and partners, as well as parents to ensure assessment standards what we do can be more accurate, "explained Nahdiana further.
The results of the assessment will be used as the basis for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office to determine which schools are ready and able to implement blended learning, namely learning by combining face-to-face learning with home learning. Schools that meet the criteria in the assessment will become model schools in the implementation of blended learning in the DKI Jakarta area.
Nahdiana added, the Ready to Study page would not stop at the school assessment stage, but also continued with direct verification of school conditions. Furthermore, for schools that are selected and become model schools, monitoring and evaluation will be carried out related to implementation. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office hopes for the cooperation and active role of parents and the community to convey their aspirations regarding the implementation of this even semester learning for 2020/2021.
"Of course we are intensifying the socialization to the existing education units. We have also used the JAKI (Jakarta now) platform to fill in the CLM (Corona Likelihood Metric) which is one of the components of the Ready to Learn assessment, "he explained.
In the application of blended learning, parents have full rights to determine whether their children are given permission to take blended learning or learn from home. Thus, the school still has to finalize its readiness to continue the implementation of learning from home, especially for schools that do not meet the criteria or do not become model schools.
Nahdiana also said that her party would continue to provide further education and explanation regarding this blended learning, especially for students and parents.
"We will continue to do this to ensure harmony between us and parents and students. Moreover, this blended learning is a scheme that is still new and still not widely understood. It is our duty to provide this information to the public, "he concluded.
All processes related to blended learning will be well prepared and mature before being implemented. Both in terms of readiness in terms of health protocols to teaching and learning activities.
