Dozens of Migrant Workers from NTB arrived at Lombok International Airport, under tight police escort to the quarantine place
Praya, - NTB 03-1-2021 As many as 81 NTB Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) arrived at Lombok International Airport (LIA), Saturday (02/1).
After undergoing a strict examination at the international arrival terminal, they were immediately escorted by PJR Polda NTB to the health quarantine center to undergo further examinations according to the Covid-19 health protocol.
Central Lombok Police Chief AKBP Esty Setyo Nugroho, S.I.K explained that the dozens of migrant workers were taken to the quarantine area that had been prepared by the NTB Province Covid-19 Task Force, namely the Hajj Dormitory under tight police escort.
"From arriving at the airport we do security, then we guard them tightly to the designated quarantine place to undergo further health checks," explained the Head of the Attic Police.
Meanwhile, Head of the Office of Manpower and Transmigration (Disnakertrans) NTB Hj. Wismaningsih Drajadiah said the 81 returning Indonesian Migrant Workers from NTB consisted of 70 men and 11 women. This is a TKI who works in Malaysia because their contract has expired.
"All of their contracts have expired, so they were sent home," said Ningsih.
According to a circular from the Central Satkes and an announcement from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, all those arriving from abroad, both foreigners and Indonesian citizens using direct flights, must be quarantined for five days and all temporary workers will be quarantined at the Haj Dormitory for further examination.
"So they cannot go home immediately, we must first quarantine for five days to prevent Covid-19," he explained. (Mst)
